Customer Background

Founded in 1971, Saifee Ship Spare Parts & Ship Chandlers is one of the UAE’s leading maritime suppliers, serving all major Gulf ports including the UAE, Qatar, and Oman. As an inventory-heavy operation, Saifee prides itself on providing competitive pricing and fast, reliable service — even for last-minute orders.

The Challenge: Manual Processes and Lack of Transparency

Like many ship suppliers, Saifee faced growing inefficiencies caused by fragmented systems and duplicated workflows. Responding to RFQs required significant manual effort, and a lack of standardised data formats created confusion and delays.

“Transparency is the biggest challenge, and the amount of time it takes to respond to RFQs. These are the primary challenges we’re focusing on right now,” says Idris Shahpurwalla, Sales and Marketing Director at Saifee.

Without automation, Saifee’s team often had to process the same information twice — once in the customer’s system and once in their own — wasting valuable time and increasing the risk of errors.

The Solution: Seamless Integration with ShipServ

By fully integrating their systems with ShipServ, part of the Marcura platform, Saifee standardised and automated their quotation and order management processes.

“We’re completely integrated with ShipServ, and it allows us to standardise across the supply chain,” explains Shapirola.
“The amount of man-hours it takes to reply to RFQs has reduced significantly.”

Now, when an RFQ is received, it’s automatically synced with Saifee’s internal systems. Prices are pulled directly from their database, and once approved, the quote goes straight to the customer — with purchase orders returning seamlessly into Saifee’s ecosystem.

“The RFQ comes through, integrates automatically, the prices come in, and my operator just approves it. It goes directly to the customer for approval — and once they approve it, the PO comes directly into our system.”

The Impact: Faster Response Times and Reduced Workload

Through ShipServ integration, Saifee has:

  • Cut RFQ processing time by automating manual steps.

  • Eliminated duplicate data entry across buyer and supplier platforms.

  • Improved accuracy and transparency through standardised data formats.

  • Strengthened relationships with buyers by responding faster and more efficiently.

“With Marcura, we’ve been able to integrate our software together so the customer does it once, we do it once, and the vessel gets what they want. There’s no reason to duplicate the work.”

Supplier Perspective

“ShipServ and Marcura have helped us bridge the gap and get back to our customers as quickly as possible. Standardising formats and integrating systems saves time for everyone — and that’s what matters most.”
